A quiet place to say what's on your mind. Nod listens, replies gently, and keeps it all on your iPhone.
01 · Listening
Say what's on your mind, however messy it is. Nod doesn't lecture, judge, or rush to fix things. It listens, and asks the kind of question that helps you keep going.
Not sure where to start? Tap “I had a rough day” and go from there.
02 · Anywhere
On a plane, in a tunnel, at 3am with the Wi-Fi off. Nod runs on your iPhone itself, so it doesn't need the internet to listen.
There's no account to create and nothing to sign in to. Open it and start talking.
03 · Your way
Want shorter replies, or more depth? Someone to just listen, or a little perspective? Two simple settings change how Nod responds.
Add a line about yourself, like “I work night shifts”, and Nod keeps it in mind.
04 · Memory
As you talk, Nod keeps short notes about what's been going on: the people in your life, the things weighing on you. Next week, it still knows who you mean.
You can read every note Nod keeps and forget any of them with a tap. Or start fresh and clear everything.
05 · Voice
Tap the mic and say it out loud. A warm glow shows Nod is listening, and your words appear as text you can check before sending.
Your voice is turned into text on your iPhone, not on a server.
06 · Hard days
If something you write sounds like you might be in danger, Nod shows a free, confidential helpline you can call straight away.
Nod is a good listener, not a therapist or an emergency service. When it really matters, it points you to people who can help.
07 · Private
Turn on Face ID and Nod stays locked until you unlock it. Not a partner glancing at your phone, not a friend passing it around.
Your conversation is saved on your iPhone, and nowhere else.
08 · Private by design
Nod doesn't send your conversation anywhere. What you write is saved on your iPhone and read by AI that runs on your iPhone. We couldn't read it even if we wanted to.
"We can't see what you write. Not because we promise not to look, but because it never reaches us."
No. Nod is a good listener, not a therapist, doctor, or emergency service. If you're struggling, please talk to someone you trust. If something you write sounds like you might be in danger, Nod shows a helpline you can call.
No. Once Nod is set up, it works fully offline. On some iPhones there's a one-time download first (see below).
On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, Nod works straight away. On other iPhones with at least 6 GB of memory, such as iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 14 and newer, Nod downloads its own AI once (about 2 GB, over Wi-Fi). It needs iOS 26 or later.
Yes. No ads, no subscription, no account, and nothing to buy inside the app.
Not through Nod. Your conversation is saved only on your iPhone, and we never receive it. Turn on Face ID in Nod's settings to keep it locked. iCloud backup of your conversation is off unless you turn it on.
Open What Nod remembers to forget any note, or tap Start fresh in settings to delete the whole conversation. Deleting the app removes everything too.
For the curious.
All of Nod's code is public on GitHub, so anyone can confirm it works the way we say. You never need to look, but it's there if you want to.
It's free.
It's called Just Nod on the App Store. Once it's on your phone, it's simply Nod.
